Spelling Bees. Questions.

Question Posted Wednesday January 9 2008, 12:09 am

During spelling bees, is there a round or time when the teacher [or whoever is asking for the words] when they ask for definitions and then you have to spell it? My teacher won't tell me anything and I don't want to be alarmed when I get to that round when they tell me a definition and I don't know the word!

Please inform me about this! I want to win super bad! [Hey, I like that movie, lol]

Thank you, guys!

They give you the word you're spelling, but they'll give you the definition if you ask for it.

No. It is a SPELLING bee. You do not have to know any definitions; you just have to be able to spell the word.

Teacher's not smart for not telling you.

But yeah, I was just a few spots away from making nationals, so I guess I'd know.

Good luck.
