exercise.. why?

i dont understand. it sounds contradictory to me. why do you feel more energized after exercise? do you mean in the long run? bc i always feel tired and like crap and the next day theres no difference really. why is exercise really necessary? it sounds like we are tiring out our muscles. its not as if we dont use them at all on a daily basis. what is exercise really for? how does it make us healthy?

Because while your body exercises it naturally realeases endorphines which are hormones. Endorphiness help you feel better about yourself and generally make you feel happy.

And exercising is WAY necassary. Look at what happens to you if you dont exercise. You get obese and all the health problems that come with obesity (diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol). Exercise is vital for a healthy, well-rounded life, as long as you don't go overboard. (too much of a good thing is a bad thing)

When you exercise your muscles, there becomes tiny tears in them. (Hence, the pain.) After you have torn your muscles, they become stronger and stronger in preparation for future tearing. Without exercise of the muscles, they relax and your body essentially dubs them as not used, and they begin to become... I want to say soft, but I hope you get the idea. Originally, humans did not need to set aside time to exercise since everything we did included exercise; hunting, gathering, traveling, etc.

Once we had technology, we did not need to exercise to get food or work. We discovered that without regular exercise, the body that had evolved into a muscle-composed form would become extremely weak. As we just sit around, we accumulate lipids and extra triglycerides and a whole bunch of other health issues that negatively impacted our hearts, the main working muscle in our bodies. In comes "exercise' (jogging, sports, skiing, etc.), which we do to compensate for this.

Basically, our bodies have been completely designed for the exercise we have running and hunting for eons. It isn't as simple as just giving up on all of it. Our brains would collapse (metaphorically, though possibly realistically) under the dramatic change. Without exercise, some people even develop cancer that is contracted simply for being sedentary for a long time.

Exercise is good for sooo many things: burning extra calories, keeping your muscles and bones strong, keeping your heart active and healthy, maintaining a healthy weight, etc. You are right that we use most of our muscles on a daily basis, but daily activities usually aren't enough to get our muscles healthy.

Sometimes the extra energy people feel after exercising is mental. They feel good about themselves, so they have a small rush of energy. For some people who do small, regular work outs, they can feel energized afterward. Obviously, you probably shouldn't expect a big rush of energy after a long, straining workout. It really depends on your own body's needs.

You might not notice it if you're fit, but it keeps us all healthy and leaner. Excersizing also makes your muscles stronger over time, and you'll start feeling it after a little bit of time. BUT, not all excersizes seem, well, like they are helping you, but most are ie: running, weight lifting, sports...
