Not as bad as you would think during the actual piercing, but the after effects can be miserable.
It can take anywhere from 6 months to 1+ year to heal.
Bumping them hurts like hell, as does touching them.
You definately want to avoid tugging or pulling them, because doing that can cause your nipple to reject the jewelry.
Proper care must be taken. Infections can also cause rejection.
DangerNerd answered Sunday January 6 2008, 11:43 pm: Someone I know told me that getting her nipples pierced felt like someone set one side of her body, literally, on fire... from the toes to the scalp, the entire side of the body on which the current nipple was being pierced was burning.
