if you are not sure of where to start studying, make a list
such as what subject area and how much of it you need to study
also sometimes studying one subject for a long period gets super boring, so switch between subjects
*taking a 10 min break every hour is nice because then you are in a way refreashed when you restart studying
take away as many distractions as possible
get all you things in front of you before hand so that youdont have to go trying to find a ruler or something
also remmeber why you are studying and how it will affect you
don't procrastinate for a test, cramming doesn't help at all and you forget the stuff faster
so study the material over a couple of days for a test
when studying, if a question comes up, write it on a post-it, then find the answer or ask you teacher tommorrow
good luck! i'll be studying too so you wont be alone! :)

The below answers are good, but another studying technique is one that you will use when you get to college. Don't go over every single detail. Take out a highlighter, and highlight the ones that you think are crucial and will assist you on your test. If need be, shut off your computer, and try not to get distracted by Facebook or Myspace.

Your environment is a substantial part of studying, and in a well lit room. Try sitting at your dining room table instead of by the TV. People have different studying techniques, I, myself, do not study at all, unless it's vocabulary to remember for Spanish [I make flashcards as said below].

I read over the book in parts so I remeber what it said. I also use the internet to find interesting things about my topic that help me get into studying. It is boring but just take breaks and go as slow as you need to

You could always make flash cards and have a friend help you study. Go through the chapter(s) and write down important facts with a bullet next to them and just go through. Hope I Helped!
