New York Permit

I'm 15 and I'll be 16 in May.I live in New York (not in the city) I'll be getting my permit in May right? B/c there were rumors that the age was being changed to 17. Is this true?

I am not sure if you realize this, I apologize if you do...but you don't just automatically get your permit at 16. You have to take a test and pay the fee. Calling the DMV or going to their website will give you all the information you need.

No. The age to get your permit in NY remains at 16, which expires after 3 years.
