*It's quicker
*Not expensive
*Not painful unless you're unfortunate to cut yourself
*Shaves close to the hair, making you feel smooth
*Also, shaving does not make hair grow back thicker. It may just give the ILLUSION.
*A tip if you want to shave, put conditioner on first and then shave. :)
*Try not to go too hard against the hair growth, as it can cause irritation and ingrown hair. Go soft, but hard enough to remove the hair. Practice will make perfect.
Waxing:
I had a bad experience with waxing. Could have been because I was young and didn't really bother reading the instructions, but if you want to wax, go to a professional if the areas you want to do are delicate.
If you do want to do it yourself though, the key is to take your time with placement (eyebrows etc). Be prepared for a bit of soreness after. but the results are good. :)
Just make sure you know what you're doing basically and it should turn out OK.
DO NOT use on broken/irritated skin.
Hair removal:
I wouldn't really use this long term. It can burn your skin, make it irritated and increase acne.
Overall:
If you want something easy, effective and can do alone, purchase a good quality razor and take it from there. :)
Remember though, everyone has different preferences.. so if you want to, try the others and see what works best for you. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

It's okay for your legs though.. if you use good shaving cream [the ones made for men are really thick and it's great] and make sure you press gently. I don't think it grows thicker. I've shaved many times considering I have a hair pulling disorder. I used to dislike every hair on my body and I used to shave everything [arms, hair on my fingers, etc] and it never came out thicker. So i guess that just depends.
Waxing is good for the bikini area and eyebrows. You should go out and get it done professionally though. It's not easy to do by yourself. Especially eyebrows, it leaves that sticky gunk on it. You go in to a salon.. they wax, pluck and thread. So it's good. Make sure you don't let them wax your forehead completely [some women do this without asking, weird.. right?] My friends have gotten rashes from this. Itchy, red bumps. Otherwise, the forehead is a bit sore and is red for a few hours to a day.
The creams are good for legs.. it always comes out smooth. Armpits are okay, it's a bit hard to do sometimes because you may not get all the hair off. So shaving would be best for armpits. It's better to use a cream for your upperlip because waxing would hurt too much [you may have to grow out those hairs really long to actually to remove it] and shaving could leave bumps, ingrown hairs, pimples. A regular Nair is good but it can be irritating. Don't use any scented hair removals.. people usually get rashes from it. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]
MaNdASzHElP247 answered Thursday January 3 2008, 3:13 am: i've done all three several times.
shaving, personally is the best way for when you shave your arms (i'm not sure where your from but here in cali we do it lol) your legs and armpits.. and the reason why is, after awhile the hair removal just doesnt make your legs and stuff smooth enough. The creams are good for your other body parts like back face. Waxing, will work for awhile, but it just makes you sore for a few days and then after you do it for awhile you end up getting ingrown hairs and black heads or like little zits. So creams or shaving is the best way, shaving it does grow thicker but it doesnt continue to constantly grow, it doesnt end up like REALLY thick thats real gross.
