importing movies into itunes

I used AlphaGeek's tutorial on how to copy personal DVD's to iTunes. I have the converted movie in the correct format, but now I don't know how to import the movie file! I tried dragging it from my Movies folder. That didn't work. I tried importing, it didn't work either. Please help me out.

I might not be understanding your question correctly.

If it won't import onto itunes, then it's not in the correct format. Try using mediacoder to convert it into something else:
