I've heard from a few people that putting your laptop on your lap is bad, because it emits radiation and can cause some damage to human organs. Is this true?
theymos answered Monday December 31 2007, 10:41 pm: No. There is absolutely no danger from any kind of electronics. Salt substitute is made of potassium, which is slightly radioactive, but much more radioactive than electronics. And you don't see anyone dying of salt substitute, and they *eat* that.
Radio waves used in WiFi isn't dangerous either. It causes some mild heating of your body, similar to putting your hand in a microwave. The heating is harmless, and it will never get dangerously hot. [ theymos's advice column | Ask theymos A Question ]
