I've been dating a girl who can't get rid of her ex-boyfriend. We spend a lot of time together and she cares for me. He has beaten her, and she does fear him. She tried to leave him several times, but only went back. Now she claims she will cold turkey him once he gets his own place in a month. Then she said she will give me all of her and make an honest attempt at us. She talks about the future and keeps me hanging on. Will she ever make the move or should I move on and figure she will never leave him?

You need to explain to her that this has gone on for too long and you dont want to be just hanging on forever. It's all on you though, do you honestly feel like she will ever leave him? If not, then you have to move on because stuff like this happens all the time where a girl's boyfriend treats her bad and yet, she doesn't leave him. It doesnt make sense but there really is nothing anyone can do about it. The way she has you hanging on by talking about the future isnt really fair to you, because this will make it even harder to move on since you believe everything she's saying. If you want to wait for her because you truly think she's worth it then go for it, but from what you've said, it doesnt really sound like she is going to get rid of the ex. I'm sorry. I hope she does and that I helped. :) [ beckss's advice column | Ask beckss A Question ]
