Question Posted Thursday December 27 2007, 8:09 am
Less than a year ago, I bought an LG enV from Verizon Wireless. A few months ago the battery connector broke, so they told me that I could pay $50 & replace it with a refurbished phone. I did that & less than a month later, it was lagging & both end keys stopped working. It also would shut on & off randomly. I took it back to the store & they replaced it with another. I had that phone for a few days & one of the main keys on the front were falling out completely after only using it to text. I took it back & explained to them that this is my third enV & if I can get a new model. They said no & that they will only change my model if its my third refurbished phone. My third refurbished phone will be coming in the mail soon, but I'm concerned that it will fall apart like the others. Every refurbished enV I had did not work at all & I haven't even had them a month. If something goes wrong, what should I do? Go back to the store & ask for a new model? Or are they going to give me a hard time about it? I do not want another enV. Would it be better to just call customer service? Thanks!

They said after the third phone falls apart (which seems to be the trend...) then they will replace it with a different model, right?
If something happens to this one, demand the new phone they promised to provide. If they don't supply that phone, call customer service and complain about it.
It sounds like their refurbished phones are junk. You paid $50 for a phone, and they give you crap that doesn't work.
For $50, you should be able to get a good phone OF YOUR CHOICE. It's not like they are giving these to you free of charge, you paid them good money for a phone that actually works.
If you end up having to call customer service over this, be sure to tell them that if they don't straighten this out, then come contract's end, you will pay a monthly fee to another provider who will actually give you a phone that works.
Otherwise, you are paying monthly for a service you can't even use.
That is a bigger waste of money than the $50 you spent on a crap phone.
