What is this?

Is this actually real? I looked it up and the disease seems rather odd.. because it just takes the form of a reptile, right? But it's right leg is normal while the left has two claws. I guess I'm weird for being interested into this.Is there any more information about this?

Seems to be pretty real to me. I read at one link there are 7 known cases in the UK. I didn't see anything about in the US other than reading one specific case.
