Question Posted Friday December 21 2007, 6:30 pm

My face is usally really dry. I hate it, so I tried a mask, but that made it so its super greasy all the time, and it still is, even tho I did it two weeks ago. What can I do to make it less greasy, but not as dry as it used to be either. And what are some athome things you can do to make undereye circles go away. Is there anything you can do to make youre face look good and reduce pores. I would like to use things I already have in the house, and not going out and buying anything new. Thanks~~~!!

Here is a website that has tons of homemade skincare recipes for all skin types and conditions (face & body). It is a wonderful website:

www.skin-care-recipes-and-remedies.com

Here is a link to a page for different facial masks..

scroll down to "mean green mask" (avocado, for
hydrating skin), here's a copy/paste of the recipe:
The Mean Green Mask

The skin softening effects of avocado have been known for centuries. This is an easy, inexpensive mask you can make which combines benefits of two of nature's best kept skin secrets. Mash the avocado and honey together immediately before use as this mask does not do well with storage. Apply to a clean face (away from eyes), allowing it to sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Ingredients:
1 large ripe organic avocado, peeled and sliced1 1/2 tablespoons organic honey

About your undereye circles...I get them too, it is partly hereditary, and partly due to lifestyle. Make sure to have good nutrition, and get enough sleep. Other than that, I think that a good undereye cream can help, or use vitamin E, or even
plain old tea bags (brewed and cooled, of course). In the meantime, try using an undereye concealer. I don't know how effective home remedies are, but here's a good website:

Cocoa Butter. Its the answer to both your problems. Just put a good layer of cocoa butter on your face at night. Put a very generous amount under your eyes where the problem areas are. Leave it like that under your eyes for about five minutes, than gently spread it to the rest of your face, trying not to press under your eyes too much. Still leave a pretty good layer of cocoa butter on there.

You will look like a greasy baboon before you go to bed, but when you wake up your skin will be pretty matte and the under-eye circles will improve significantly if not disappear completely =)

Some people say that applying cold cucumbers are cold spoons to your eyes helps, but it never has for me, but you can try it. Also, try not to touch the eye area too much, the skin there is verrryyy sensitive and bruises easily. That means no rubbing, too! So when applying concealer or foundation or what not, pat it on, don't rub it in.

You cant wash your face all the time thats just going to dry it out. To get ride of the greasyness try the clean and clear blue wipes, that absorb grease. Im not sure what they are called but it wont dry out your face and you can use them as much as you want. Don't wash it continuously or it will dry out.
