Say you get a 500 in one section and you retake the test and next test you get lower..which score is taken?

you can choose to send your best scores to the school of your choice, even if those scores are not your most recent. that's why people take the sat as much as they can- so they can possibly have better scores to send.

They take the better score of each section. So if you did better in reading on the first test, but then better in math on the second then those are the scores you get & im positive about that as my brother just took the SATs, so the person below me is wrong.

If you retake the entire test, those are the scores used. :)
