heyy i tried sending a text to my friend's phone from im and it worked but when she texted back i never got anything.....do u no why?
would it b possible to text from email instead of im?

Most IM services provide you with a 5 digit text number, Like the ones you see on TV. Like send a txt to 95545. Send a txt to your own cell phone and see what your sms or (txt) "number" is. Have your friend send messages to this number. Should work!

I don't know why it wouldn't work. I'm not to
familiar with cell phones. I do know that I could
send short email messages to my kids phones as
text messages. Give that a try. :)

More than likely your friend doesn't have an Internet ready phone. If so, are they able to browse the web? If they are they may need a phone upgrade. Ask them to call their cell's tech support.
