the reason they say to drink alot of liquids is to keep u hydrated because the certain medicines you take when your sick make you dhydrated. you should drink water too because it wont make your tummy upset with the medicines.

The reason it is best to drink lots (meaning at least 8 eight oz glasses a day) is because one way to get healthy is to clear out your blood stream and "pee" out the bad stuff.

Liquids dilute and reduce the toxins in the blood stream. However, "liquids" does not mean coffee, tea, soda, or alcohol. It is best to stick with water, fruit juice, and vegetable juice.

Along with other doctor's orders, you should be feeling better in no time.

When you get sick, you can get easily dehydrated from vomitting up liquids and sweating and so forth.
You can get sick from drinking too much though.
I would say maybe 3-5 bottles of water.

liquids keep you hydrated...and drinks like gatorade (which you're supposed to drink when you vomit) restore electrolytes so your body doesn't get too weak. I don't think there is really a limit to how much you should drink...that would be a question to ask your doctor.
