Can't breathe!

Question Posted Sunday December 16 2007, 11:06 am

I have severe nose descongestion since forever. I used this nasal spray containing HCL or w/e and some doctor told me not to use it any longer as it is harmful but I cannot breathe without it when I am trying to sleep. Now I am sick and I have to keep waking up every 3 hours to spray some more of the stuff into my nostrils even though it is not a good idea to use it for more than 3 days as it says behind the bottle. I don't even know what that means. Does anyone have a similar problem and a solution to nasal decongestion?

This is what I use, and it works just as well. You take a carrot, grate it until it its complete mush, and then drop some into a paper towel, and squeeze it to get the juice out. Use the carrot juice for your nose. Its easiest to pour the liquid into your nose with a spoon... 2-3 drops should do, just make sure they really go through into your nose, if that makes sense.

Bottled carrot juice doesn't seem to be as efficient.

My mom has trouble breathing when she sleeps, so she got some of those Breathe Right Nasal Strips and they worked great for her.

Sollution, not really, but I am suffering from the same condition.

I used to be addicted to that stuff, I understood that I cant be using it forever and finally learned to live breathing from my mouth.

At First I couldn t sleep. I couldn t eat.
You eat and you try to breath at the same time and you are kind of gasping and it makes you look funny lol...

Now its OK.
I ll give you some other advice though, drink a ot of water and always keep water next to your bed. When you sleep and breath with your mouth open, it gets really really really dry.So you get thirsty.
Also try applying some vaseline on your lips before sleeping.Sometimes they get so dry, they get cuts and bleed.Vaseline is good for your lips.
