i have a slight fear of judgement. ok, make that a BIG fear. so, i really like to sing and dance, and its been my dream for a long time to be famous like ashley tisdale, or another disney star. but i have the biggest fear, that someone is going to make fun of me, or judge me or something. i dont want to let that get in the way of my dreams, so how do i get over that fear?
sorry if its a stupid question....
icey0990 answered Monday December 10 2007, 10:54 pm: its not a dumb question, i think you need to have confidence in yourself. think of the most popular and successful singers out there like justin timberlake, etc. he has a lot of fans, but a lot of people dont like his music. with every famous person you have the fans, and the people who dont like them. just accept it and be yourself, do your thing, and keep in mind you will have fans, but not the whole world. thats how it is with the most rich and famous singers in the world! so be confident in yourself, work hard, and you can do anything :) [ icey0990's advice column | Ask icey0990 A Question ]
asknava answered Monday December 10 2007, 9:53 pm: Well I am a singer. I act and sing. I am going to tell you a story. I have been singing and acting since I could talk. I have always made people happy and feel good, even cry sometimes they were so moved. They would come up to me and tell me how moved they were and how they really wanted me to continue on. I've even recieved awards for my tallents. One time, I was in a play and this little boy that was getting a lot of hype cause he was new and he was an adorable little guy and he could sing...so most people thought. Now I didn't think so, because his voice did not fit my ears. Now I never said anything, I always kept it to my self and when people would ask me I would say well you know he has a lot of potential and with time or what ever he will go far. Whatever. So one day I was sitting behind him and I can't remember if he told me directly or if he was saying it to a friend, but he said that his friend said that I couldn't sing. I was flabergasted at the thought of this little boy maybe 3 or 4 years younger than me telling me that his friend said I couldn't sing when I was the one who had a lead singing role in this play and he didn't hahaha...now really that doesn't matter. He can think what he wants and I can think what I want and others can think what they want. The point is that always in the back of my mind when I am going to sing, I think about this one little boy...Not the 1000's of other people that have heard me and liked it...no just this one little boy. But you know what? That happens to most of us. You just gotta ignore that little negative voice. Say you know what, I'm gonna prove to myself that I can rise above those thoughts and do what I want to do. Just make sure that you practice, you take constructive critisism and know what you aren't good at and what you are, and go by how you feel. DO WHAT YOU FEEL YOU CAN DO! :) ok hope my story helped. Practice makes perfect, so try singing for your family and friends. You can even take some classes. No one will make fun of you if they can tell how passionate you are about your goals.
