volunteering in hospital
im 19 years old female...
over winter break when im home from college, i want to volunteer at the hospital. i was thinking about just bringing people good things for the holidays and making them happy. maybe the elderly patients and children. my question is..how do i go about doing this? do i just call and ask about volunteering? or is there something that this is called?

Call the hospital and tell the operator you
want to be put in touch with someone who can
give you info on volunteering. They usually
have specific jobs for volunteers. A lot of
the volunteers at our hospitals relay messages
from the operating room to people waiting for
news on someone in surgery. But I'm sure there
are other things to do. :)

You just ask about a volunteering program. I am sure hospitals would really appreciate this, especially during the Holiay Season! I think it is very thoughtful and I am certain that the patients will get great joy.
