cough syrup

if you take cough syrup then right after drink something is it true that whatever you drink can mess with the cough syrup and make it not work?

in most instances, that isn't true. all kinds of people, including myself, HAVE to drink something after taking cough syrup- the taste triggers my gag reflex if i don't. soda pop, kool-aid, any juices, and water shouldn't really affect it. alcohol would, but i seriously doubt you'd do that. haha. (:

Well, the cough syrup contains alcohol. Drinking alcohol on top of it increases the effects of drowsiness, etc caused by the cough syrup.
