Maslow's Theory

Question Posted Sunday December 9 2007, 5:44 pm

Says that organisms that engage in homeostasis have needs, and one of those needs are sex. How does Maslow's Theory apply to asexual people? (Do not crave/want/need sex.)

I sort of agree with the other person who responded.. but the thing is the monks and Buddists ect. are not the only asexual people, those people choose to be, but some people do not have a choice, they just don't feel the disire to have sex. but other than that, the other person was right. Maslow wasn't thinking about asexual people, he just made a generalization. I hope that I helped

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs only applies to normal people. Asexual people, Psychopaths, and Buddhist monks are not normal. It's a simple matter of Maslow not thinking of these people when he created The Hierarchy.
