Christmas Gift Ideas

Question Posted Monday December 3 2007, 3:40 pm

16/f
What are some cool gifts that I could get my friends (female)? $10-20.
Things that you would want to get... more specific that just "clothes" or "candy".
Not money or gift cards.

Thanks.

First go to Wal-mart, if you've got one in your area, and check whether they've got a bin of DVD's 2 for $11. Then take an older friend, adult friend, or a parent that you trust (doesn't have to be one of your own) and ask them what movies are especially good, funny, etc. Trust them. If they tell you to get "Blazing Saddles" and "Mystery Men", DO IT. There are some classic movies out there that every generation loves, no matter how old they are!

If that doesn't flow, and your friends have no hobbies (drawing, soccer, Japanese culture, aquariums, musicals, etc.) then give them something everyone uses, such as a wallet, nail polish, hair accessories, fancy patterned shoelaces, etc. One year my roommate and I got each other several boxes of our favorite cereals.

If they do have a hobby then they're easy to shop for.

in the past i've gotten stuff like this for my friends that are girls:
small candles/candle holders
little things of lotion or bubble bath from bath and body works
that nice bath and body works lip gloss stuff
jones soda (i know it sounds weird, but a typical "jones" gift consists of a four-pack of jones soda bottles and some stickers or earrings or something with a big bow)
picture frames with a picture of you and your friend
photo albums
small purse filled with candy and jewelry, or any of the above
much of this can be found at wal-mart or target :)
EDIT: i just thought of this, and i know you said no money or gift cards, but starbucks has little five dollar gift cards that you could attach to a smaller gift, like a picture frame or candle.

well, i dont know your friends, but maybe they are into bath sets, lotions, sprays, jewlery? i know i can find some really good buys on jewlery sets in jcpenny and other stores. maybe you can remember if they have been wanting something for awhile. like i personally really want a hair straightener, i just never get around to getting one haha. and i have seen a couple good ones for around 15-20$. so my advice is just to think about them and what they like.
