My face is horribly broken out, and I really don't know why. I'm impatient, but yes, I seem to have tried everything. I hate medicines that make things "worse before they get better." I have been BEGGING my mom to get me Proactive, but she is refusing. She says she will take me to the derm. but I don't want to go there because I know she will give me something that will dry my face out and make it peal and really discusting. Any advice? I really want Proactive, is it worth the money? Should I just get it myself when I get money for Christmas?
I also wash my face three times a day, and after each time use face astringent (I use Clean & Clear for sensitive skin) and apply Olay face moisturizer so my skin doesn't dry out.

I have found stuff for my face that is like 6-7 dollars and it works alot better. It is called, Clearasil acne control. sometimes it might say vanising cream on it also. it helped my face alot.

I don't have acne, but I wouldn't recommend just buying Proactive, because I think it's expensive.. and it might not even work. You should go to the derm. because they will tell you what's best for your skin type. You can ask him/her if Proactive would be okay to use on your skin. But even if they give you the medicine that makes your face dry and whatever...you should stick to it because there is no acne treatment that will get rid of everything extremely fast..besides laser treatment [please dont.] I also heard that when using proactive, it makes you break out like crazy and your face gets seriously dry, but then it helps, but it's the same as any other medicine but it's a lot more commercialized. But don't go ahead and buy it because it may not work based on your skin type. I hope everything works out. [ footballchick2's advice column | Ask footballchick2 A Question ]

It cleared my skin up and helped my oily complexion. It does take a week to a month to completely clear, but its worth the wait. [ ashlynn's advice column | Ask ashlynn A Question ]
