Should I? If I have a big oval shaped head, poofy hair but getting a little bald at the front, is it a good idea to get side bangs?
If not, what style would look probably the most decent?

Basically any style works with the oval shape. I've rocked different bangs. Blunt straight across, side bangs and razor cuts. You can try side bangs and see if you like it. If you don't, go for the straight across just at your eyebrows.
Since your face is well proportional. You don't need heavy bangs because that might add weight to your face.

You just need to avoid short layers that add height to your head. It will only make your face appear longer. So if you want a new hair style, go for long layers. Maybe face framing layers starting near the chin. ]
side bangs are a good idea...like the person under me said...you can do anything with an oval shaped face..
heres a hairstyle that would be really cute

"The oval face is the most versatile face. You can pull off almost any look -- short, long, straight or wavy. No matter the length of your cut, you'll look best with layers near your cheekbones, lips or chin -- basically whatever feature you want to highlight."
So basically, any style goes - and as for the bangs, they will go too, especially if you need to hide the fact you're getting "bald". Heavier "Blunt bangs" will stand out more and add texture to your hair. ]
