Many times it is a tradition in the family or religiously like Jewish people, but some people do it becuase once a boy is circumsized the forskin of the penis is removed. This is cleaner for the boy becuase if he is not circumsized he needs to pull back the forskin and clean everywhere when he is in the shower, and circumsizing the penis just keeps it cleaner. ]
To be circumcised means too have your foreskin cut off, in a nutshell.
The foreskin is the "extra" skin around the head of the penis. It is removed often for relgious and cosmetic reasons. For example it is comman practice among Jews too circumcise boys when they are babies. The exact reasons for this I'm not sure about this, but it is an ancient practice that they have been doing for years.
Also you will find that many women in the USA have their children circumcised just because its "the done thing." In recent years it has been in decline, but I'm sure its ranked as the most carried out cosmetic procedure in the US.
If you still confused excactly what the foreskin is (which is unstandable if you have been circumsied, or are a girl lol), or just havnt seen that many other guys penis's then just google it if your prepared too see some graphic images lol. Hope I helped. ]
