Volleyball2150 answered Wednesday November 28 2007, 7:36 pm: I read the book and saw the movie... but that was probably like 2 years ago and i can't remember what happened. I remember some parts but its like the boy gets 2 dogs, then they are hunting a lot and one of the dogs gets hurt and sick... then slowly starts to die. The other dog is depressed that his friend is dying so the other dog is also sad and won't eat. Then they both eventually die and the boy buries the dogs and plants a red fern on top of the graves so that he will always remember them and where they are.
PS: be prepared to cry!! I did after reading that book. Oh and on my personal opinion, the books are always better than the movies. Because in the books, you get to imagine how the scene is. You get to imagine what the characters look like and the area. you get a mental picture. The books are longer, more exciting, and has lots more details.
