Well, since you tried and didn't go thorugh with it, in the back of his mind it might have ended up turning him off. Maybe subconciously its all he wanted and when you did the second thing, it didn't seem as good. Give it some time, maybe a week, and try again. Right now, I think it is his pride but within time he should be back to himself.
