im only 16, and i have gray hair. My mom told me i could have "straightened the color right out of my hair" because it doesnt look like normal gray hair. its totally white. she told me it doesnt look normal. has this happened to anyone else?

Losing the colour in the hair is very complicated and is called canities but is basically caused by a lack of pigmentation. There are various causes for premature greying, (depending on your colouring and ethnicity your hair can go white instead of grey).
I have included a web site that gives many reasons for this occurance, some serious, some genetic.
