Reach under your arm and feel the long muscle in your back just behind your ampit. That's your latissimus dorsi.

i just learned about this in my health class i have to take :) latts are muscles in your back- the full name is lattissimus dorsi. you might also hear of another muscle in your back, which is the trapezius- or "traps". apparently body-builders have awesome latts and traps.

The word "lats" is short for Latissmus Dorsi...or simply, back muscles.
