Question Posted Wednesday November 21 2007, 1:55 pm
I'm a girl And Aged 14. Around two months ago me and my boyrfriend had sex. I had decided I was ready and although a little scared, went through with it and everything was okay. I had a pregnancy scare after the third or so time however. I went to the chemist and got the morning after pill then about a week after that i had my period. I was please cos it was a sign i wasn't pregnant. Me and my boyfriend then on continued to have sex. two weeks or so after my period I started having blood come out.. I'm still iregular but usually my periods are separated with big gaps. I am worried that the reason i was bleeding a little was because i was too young and the sex caused it.. but then i thought it could be the tablet i took for my pregnancy scare. Is it normal to bleed in the middle of your period like this after having sex? Or should I be worried.. HELP?

I mean, really, a 14 year old girl who feels she is responsible enough to have sex needs to be responsible enough to protect herself against the consequences- pregnancy and STDs.
Safe sex is something you and your boyfriend both need to get into the habit of practicing from the FIRST time. Condoms are the only thing that protects against STDs, so you should ALWAYS use them, even if you are taking birth control. It is for your own protection.
Personally, I think sex at 14 is way too young, but your age most likely doesn't have anything to do with your irregular bleeding. It is most likely due to the fact that you are so young your menstrual cycle isn't anywhere near regulated. If it is a big worry, you should set an appointment with your doctor.
As for the effects of the morning after pill and questions concerning if it is causing your irregular bleeding you need to ask the pharmacist who sold it to you. Knowing medicines and what they do to your body is their job.

It's not good if you are having sex and don't have a regular period, especially if you aren't using a birth control. Of course you are going to worry and that will mostly delay your period or skip it. Or you will end up pregnant. Sometimes those pills don't work.
You confused me a bit. Is it normal to bleed in the middle of your period? So do you have your period now or not? You shouldn't be having sex when you're on it. But I'm not sure if you use condoms.. If you were having rough sex, you may bleed. But if you are that irregular to be bleeding in the same MONTH, it wouldn't be good to have sex. You should wait or get on the pill so you can have your period regulated.
I would take another test to be sure. Ask your mom if you can get on the pill because you have bad cramps and your period lasts too long or that you get like two periods in the same month. She doesn't need to know you are having sex. Your doctor wouldn't know for sure either since many girls break their hymens by activities as biking and such.
