Does birth control help to clear up your acne? If so, how long does it usually take? I've only been on mine for about 12 days and I've found my acne to be getting worse.

You've only been on it for about 2 weeks. You need to be on it for a month or so, so the hormones in it get into your system and could regulate your period. Even still, you could possibly spot in between that time and you may break out. So you should wait after a month and see how that goes. My cousin had bad acne and after a year on it, her face was completely clear. So it takes some time to take effect.
So if your acne is getting worse after that time then switch your birth control to another brand.
The side effects of birth control are clearing up acne OR increasing acne. So give it some time and use some acne medication on your skin while you are waiting. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]
