odor
This is so embarrassing but, I have a bad odor "down there" and I wanted to go to the doctor. Is this a common problem for girls that you would see a doctor for? And do I have to go to a gyno or can I go to a regular doctor and what would they do about it and determine if I have an infection or something?

It kind of depends. Is the bad odor followed by any pain? If there is any pain whatsoever and an unpleasant odor than you will probably be better off visiting your regular doctor (who, if necessary, can refer you to a gyno) or a gyno if you already have one...
If it's just the odor than I would call the doctors office/gyno office and tell them that it is just an odor, no pain or any other symptoms, and if they think an appt. is necessary.

Your regular doctor should be able to tell you what to do/what's wrong- a gyno isn't necessary, although I could kind of understand if you felt more comfortable with a specialist. I'm sure it's pretty common, too, so don't worry. :]
