Bathroom problems Well i am having my period right now, but it is near the end- but recently there has been something wrong. When I use the bathroom, it kind of takes me a while before I can pee which is strange because that never happened before. It kind of started like yesterday. I don't know if it is because of my period or if it is something more serious. Do you think I could have a UTI? Because like yesterday, I kind of had a mild fever. 99.5 degrees but it is gone now. I'm really worried- because I am not sure if there is anything wrong with me.

The fever thing isn't very serious. Your body temperature actaully fluctuates all the time. Sometimes it's higher than 98.6º, sometimes it's lower- that's only the average and 99.5º isn't much higher. I say wait it our a few days. If it doesn't go away by the end of you period (or a day later), if it starts to hurt, or if you do get a higher fever, talk a doctor (or maybe just a school nurse, first, if you're not in pain). ]
Sometimes this happens to me when I have my period. It doesn't last more than two or three days, and that is the only symptom. If this describes you, then I would say that is normal for your body.
However, if you really have to strain to go, if it worsens, if you have a burning sensation when you go, or if you feel like you have to go even after you just went, then you could have a UTI. But since most of us here aren't doctors, we can't really diagnose you.
If you suspect that you have a UTI, don't be nervous. When you go to the doctor, you will ahve to pee in a cup and they will check the sample for bacteria. If it is confirmed that you have a UTI, you will be given antibiotics and perhaps other things. When I had one, I had to take a bath in baking soda.
The main thing is, don't be too worried until more symptoms show up or if your present symptoms don't go away. Good luck!
Best wishes,

if you had uti, you'd know it. it may just be the most painful thing ever to happen w/o being shot. tell your mom.. if its still that way in a few days then go to a doctor or gynecologist.
