You sound exactly like me 6 years ago!

I also have exercise-induced asthma, and a black belt in karate :D Add to that the fact that I was in the school band and had a part time job, and the similarities are uncanny!

First of all, I'll let you in on a secret... a lot of that extra weight might be muscle if you train seriously. I've always weighed around 180ish since age 15/16, and it's because of that.

As for losing weight, it's a simple matter of burning more calories than you take in. If you keep up a diet of around 2000 calories, that should give you enough energy to keep going with your training, while still allowing you to lose weight.

You don't have to totally give up junk food; just moderate. Try to keep your fat and sugar intake down, and you should be fine!

Remember that it's more about how you look than what you weigh. If you look and feel healthy, then chances are you are!

Well, you would want to lose weight naturaly and healthily. So, there are a few things you can try. :)
You can eat more healthy meals (unless you already do). Which basically all you have to do is watch the calories you eat per day, and try to stay away from fatty junk foods. especialy soda. Soda is famous for increasing obesidy.
Also, you can try (in your spare time) being more active. like walking more. But nothing that would cause you to have problems with your asthma.
I really hope this helps, and I wish you luck!

Its tough having asthma, but you can build up the strengh of your lungs by working out. Start out simply walk home from school every day and make sure to watch what your eating. This sounds crazy but try to eat 5-6 SMALL meals a day.and dont forget breakfast, if you have all of your calories a day in one meal your body has gone into starvation mode and will hold on to every calorie and ounce of fat you consume.
Example:
breakfast- bowl of (healthy cereal) special k and banana
snack 1- granola bar and apple sause
lunch- water bottle and veggie wrap with baggie of grapes
snack 2-carrot sticks with nonfat ranch
dinner- peice of steak ( size of deck of cards=1 serving) wih grilled asaperigas and baked potato
snack 3- tortilla chips with salsa

things that can ruin a healthy meal:
mayo
soda
regular chips
fried things
cookies

remember: there is no such thing as a "never" food, just "once in a while" foods

hope this helps!
good luck!!
=]
and tell family and friends you are trying to lose weight- they wont tempt you with brownies and stuff
