confused about choices

Question Posted Monday October 29 2007, 9:45 pm

first of all sorry if this is in the wrong catagory. i really am. ok so i play high school soccer and lately i havent been playing as much as i used to. and its bothering me because i used to play alot until i got sick last week and only made one practice. in between the last two games ive played for 14 minutes. besides this, we were supposed to have our last game wednesday (yeah on halloween wtf?) but it got moved to saturday. but i have a commitment at the same time as the game for my church that i've been trying to plan for months. so idk if i should skip the game or not cause it seems like they dont need me. so my mom goes you should do the church thing cause u've been planning it but my dads like team commitment and idk what to. help!

This is a very sticky situation. For one, when you joined the team, as your father said, you made a committment to that team. Then again, church is also very important, especially if you have been planning for months.

Make yourself a pro/con list to help decide which you would rather do.

I don't really understand this because at my school when you are on a sports team, other than your education, that team comes first. If you miss a practice you will usually sit out the next game (Those were even the rules when I played rec. ball unless we were very sick and had a doctors note or another extremely good excuse). So I can already tell that your school atheletics are different than mine.

I can't tell you what I would do in your position because I don't want to influence this choice. This is a choice that you should make on your own.

Again, make a pro/con list. If the benefits of your church outing outweight the benefits of your soccer game then go on the church outing. If it's the other way around then play in the game.
