To complicate matters, however, abdominal pain also can occur without inflammation, distention or loss of blood supply. An important example of this latter type of pain is the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It is not clear what causes the abdominal pain in IBS, but it is believed to be due either to abnormal contractions of the intestinal muscles (e.g., spasm) or abnormally sensitive nerves within the intestines that give rise to painful sensations inappropriately (visceral hyper-sensitivity)."
As you can see, it can be a number of things. It could be nothing but on the other hand, it may need treatment. Visit your doctor for a thorough diagnosis. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

The appendix can actually explode inside of you, and cause poison to go throughout your body. Not to scare you or anything, but that is how serious it could be; so go to the doctors:] [ ASAPcamille's advice column | Ask ASAPcamille A Question ]
