Leg muscles

Question Posted Monday October 22 2007, 10:48 pm

My leg muscles are massive but theres a little fat around it too. I'm about .3 into the "overweight" BMI category, so I've got some fat. I was wondering is there's anyway to burn the fat on my legs without building anymore muscles, or if there's anyway to lose some of the muscle on my legs? I'd be so grateful.
By the way I'm female.
Thanks.

Running burns fat like crazy and builds lean muscle, which sounds like what you want. Run long distances, like cross country runners. It's not uncommon for them to run 3 or 4 mile loops at practice once they're in shape. Try starting out with a mile. Good luck!

You could:

Swim, if not to cold
cardio warm up
leg extensions
reverse leg curls
calves

But, I recommend squats, and just plain old bending at the knee instead of the waist for everyday pick ups. You will have to be careful when you do squats and lunges if it hurts your knees dont go down that far. I found simply bending at the knees and not the waist has not only helped shape my thighs, but my butt as well. It gives it that round shape, not that cottage cheese look.
