what do you mean as a risk factor?
people i love have been diagnosed with sever anxiety and are on meds. the only time that one should worry is that if you notice they are acting strange and different (coz sometimes the meds, alprazolam usually, make people more depressed and if they had a suicidal record then they are more than likely be juggling the idea in their heads so watch out!) other than that i don't think anything else has been reported except that the patient must see the doc frequently to make sure they are not getting addicted or their body is getting "immune" to the medicine and thus lesser effect.

if you mean as a risk to other people then your talking major disorder here... if a person is so anxious that they are capable of harming others then they'd be taken immediately to a facility until regulated under meds and through therapy. also this is very very rare since most anxious people tend to freak out and seek refuge in a "safe" place. meaning they escape what they are anxious about rather than attack it....

but hey i am no doctor! i've just been around alot since i deal with people with anxiety disorders on a daily basis.
hope i helped...
