a beautiful song from that production is "someone to watch over me"... that's just my personal favorite. rest your voice a few days before you audition, gargle with salt water, and don't eat dairy products or candy before you audition. i don't really know of any monologues from crazy for you, sorry. ]
Unless otherwise specified, high school auditions generally require a song and monologue from any show, not the one you're auditioning for. Having been in Crazy For You, there really aren't any monologues since musicals generally lack them. I'd suggest picking a monologue from somewhere else and using it. Make it upbeat and fun since that's the idea of the show.
Most of the songs from the show should work for a soprano auditions. Listen to the soundtrack and find one you like. ]
Yeah, I always got nervous when it came time for auditions. What I did is I got the lyrics sheet and I read through it over and over and then I sang it at least twice each day before auditions. I'm not the world's greatest singer, but always save your voice for the audition. Sing in moderation. Talk in moderation. Gargle plenty of warm salt water, and get rest!!
Oh, and if you ever get a light headed feeling before performing, or ever feel like you're about to piss yourself (gross, I know, sorry :P) start planting your feet hard and firm into the ground. Start with your feet, and continue to make your body stiff with your legs, hands, arms, etc. You will not feel as weak and the nervous jitters will mostly be gone.
You will be fine! And good luck!! ]
