Do colleges care if you visit them before you apply? would colleges be mad if you dont visit their school if their school is kind of far away from where you live? would they even know?

No, they shouldn't get mad. However, you should try to make it up there because going on campus could potentionally help you make the decision about going there. My Journalism teacher said she went to her college because she liked the environement & the feeling she got when she visited the campus. ]
College visits are mainly provided for potential student to get a feel for the school and decide if they enjoy the environment. I suggest you try to go, even take a weekend trip if necessary, because it truly can help you decide if the college is right for you.
However, not taking a visit to the campus shouldn't hurt your chances of admission. The only possible way it could get back to the college is if an admissions officer asked you in an interview if you had taken a visit. Even so, the admissions officer wouldn't count that against you unless they were really unsure weather or not to reccomend you for admission. ]
From my understanding, they wouldn't be upset. Especially, since it is far away. ]
