laptop trouble

i have a dell laptop and its kinda new.. my hard drive on the laptop is not working properly and it has no space on it at all, i think theyre may be a virus on it. but i was wondering if i bought a compatible hard disc drive would that be able to fix the problem? would it then be like new?

i give u simple step that will cost u $0:
1.Start/mycomputer/right click and choose manage
2.Storage/disk management and finds the harddrive that have no name
3.format it or change the drive letter by right clicl on the suspected drive! better to do both
4.Voila!! done!

That would fix it, but it's unnecessary. You can completely blank/format/reinstall your hard drive, which has the same effect, but for free. You haven't rated very many of your answers, so I'm not going to make a huge guide here. IM me for specific instructions or help on fixing your hard drive without deleting everything.

9dayz's instructions won't work. You can't format an active drive.

I have no idea. You should go see someone at Best Buy or Circuit City. They'll look at it and tell you what's wrong. Hope I helped a little.
