Almost anything by Jack's Mannequin. Whenever I'm down, I have to listen to them. Drak Blue and La La Lie are my personal favorites on sad days.

Other good slow songs:
Run to You- The Rocket Summer
Setting Up Sunday- Meg and Dia
I'll Follow You Into the Dark- Death Cab for Cutie
Vienna- Billy Joel
Boston- Augustana
Lyrical Lies- Cute is What We Aim For

"More Than You Think You Are" by Matchbox Twenty.
"The Real Life" by 3 Doors Down.

matchbox twenty has brilliant songs with fantastic lyrics. if it's about a guy, i reccommend 'hand me down'.
