you normally put your hands around his neck, and he normally puts his hands around your waist. that's how most people do it. however, my group of friends is probably different from that. to us, slow dancing with somebody doesn't mean that you like them, it just means that you're friends... so sometimes we do the whole ballroom dancing thing. you know, girl's left hand on boys shoulder, boy's right hand on girl's waist, and then the extra hands meet in the middle sort of thing. but if a guy asks you to dance, wait like half a second to see where he's going to put his hands to make sure that you two are on the same page.

you can put your hands at the back of his neck..

depending on how close you want to be you could dance with your head on his sholder or with your head on his chest if he's too tall.
