Close minded My boyfriend is very close minded. He is totally against drinking, smoking, drugs, dying your hair, peircings, tattoos, etc. He freaks out when I say I want to do any of these things, especially without him. What can I do to make him more open minded?

You can't make a person more open-minded. You can argue, persuade, bribe, bet, pray, bully and beg them, but most people just don't change thier minds unless they want to.
You can't change him. If you can't live with who is his, you'll have to live without him. ]
This might sound like an obvious thing to say but you should never try and change a boy if theres something that you dont like about it then you shouldnt try it becuse you end up trying to change them which doesnt help as you cant change someone.
You will probably just have to try and exept the fact that he is close minded
If you cant accept that then youre going to have to decide yourself what youre going to do.
I hope this helps

Well lets see here. Drinking, smoking, and using drugs are not good for you and your boyfriend is not close minded for not wanting you or anyone else to do those things. He is simply concerned for the health and well being of those he cares about, including himself. Tattoos and piercings can be safe if done by a professionally trained person following all of the appropriate safety and sanitation guidelines. Otherwise there is a risk of infection and worse damage. Dying your hair probably has the least risk and a professionally trained stylist will do a test patch to make sure you don't have an allergy to any of the chemicals.
Could it be that your boyfriend doesn't want you to alter your appearance with tattoos, piercings, or colored hair because he loves your appearance just the way it is? Perhaps you should be asking yourself WHY you not only want to drastically alter your appearance, but WHY you want to fill your body with harmful substances such as drugs, smoke, and alcohol. It could also be helpful to speak with a counselor about this as well since something else may be going on that you wish to cover up. Covering things up never fixes the problem, it just makes it worse. ]
