What is Homecoming like?

This is my first year going to homecoming (which is on this Saturday), and I'm in a big group. All but me & 2 other girls have dates.
What is homecoming like? What do you do there?
Will it be horrible since I don't have a date, and few guy friends?
Do guys usually ask girls to dance, even if they don't know them very well?
I just have no clue and I'm scared that I'll just be sitting there, lonely... :(

Homecoming is like a big party. You dance, you eat, that's just about it. It won't be horrible because you don't have a date, you can still dance with any of your female friends (regardless of wether they have a date or not) or grab one of your guy friends to dance. Chances are, you won't be lonely if you're going with all of your friends. :)

it doesn't matter if you have a date or not the only difference between that is the slow songs and they don't play a whole lot of those. But homecoming is just music that you can dance to and go nuts. and they don't ask girls to dance unless they like them and don't be lonely theres those two other girls that dont have dates ask them. Hope all goes well!
