i am in special ed and i was wondering how come students can get scribe(written for them by a teacher) i dont get scribe but my friend does i just have a reading disibility but it feels unfair wat do i do
This means that they cannot process what they hear fast enough to write it down or make coherant notes.
The scribe types it up for them and takes notes in the classes for them so they can succeed in them.
Like the other poster said dyslexic students use this service because they often cannot read their own notes or take them down. There is no special or unfair treatment going on when you think about it. You aren't getting this kind of support because they've deemed you to be not in need. This can make getting ideas onto paper tricky and a scribe can be really helpful. Your special ed coordinator may feel that although you have trouble with reading, you're okay at writing. If you feel that you would benefit from a scribe then I suggest talking it over with him/her. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
