Book for mom

Question Posted Saturday October 6 2007, 2:52 pm

My mom is 47, and for Christmas, I want to get her a really good book. Not a book about sex. And she is a christan.

If you could, tell me the best book to get her, and the best book you have ever read.

Depends on what kind of books she likes. Some of the best books that are historical romance yet Christian books are written by Janette Oke. Her books have been made into movies for Hallmark. There are usually more than one book in a series. If she likes it she can get more and see the movie! Here is more information. :)

You can get her a Chicken Noodle Soup for the "Insert name thing here" Soul books. Those are usually a really good read, and the stories are really touching. Your mom might like that.

If you don't wanna buy that, try getting her a book like Night, or To Kill A Mockingbird. Get her a classic that you think she really might love.

I don't know your mom (obviously), but my mom's favorite book of all time is Gone With the Wind. It's really a timeless classic.

Try to hint around to find out what her favorite book when she was younger was. See if you can find the book, bonus points if it's in a new, special edition version. It'll definitely bring a wave of nostalgia back and make her know that you really listen and care about what she says.

Try saying, "Aw, remember (insert book that you read when you were little)? I loved that book. What did you used to read when you were little?" or something. It might seem a bit obvious, but since Christmas isn't for a few more months, she'll forget about the conversation, probably.
