If you don't wanna buy that, try getting her a book like Night, or To Kill A Mockingbird. Get her a classic that you think she really might love. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

Try to hint around to find out what her favorite book when she was younger was. See if you can find the book, bonus points if it's in a new, special edition version. It'll definitely bring a wave of nostalgia back and make her know that you really listen and care about what she says.
Try saying, "Aw, remember (insert book that you read when you were little)? I loved that book. What did you used to read when you were little?" or something. It might seem a bit obvious, but since Christmas isn't for a few more months, she'll forget about the conversation, probably. [ beckyboo's advice column | Ask beckyboo A Question ]
