When ever I am PMSing I get very moody and fight with everybody, and i crave food like alot of food and it is hard not to eat all day. I also start crying for no reasons at all and am very emotional. Then when I am on my period I am also still really moody, i bloat really bad, and I have no energy, like yesterday I came home and went to take a nap at like 4:30 and didnt get up until the next morning, and I can hardly get through the day. I also cramp extremly bad! Is there anything I can do so that this is not affecting my life as much? Everyone I talk to seems to not know what to do and I dont know anyone to who gets all these symptoms this bad. I really cant afford to go to my doctor right know because I do not have health insurance. But any advise on how to help control these things would be greatly appriciated! Sorry so long!

So, first, about being moody. It's completely normal. Just try counting to three or taking a deep breath when you're ready to flip out on someone.
Next, the food craving. Girls tend to eat a lot of chocolate and junk when they're on the period. This will only give you a stomach ache on TOP of your cramps. So try to eat healthy, and eat light things like crackers, toast, etc.
Having no energy is also real normal. But that doesn't mean you should reach for caffeine or anything. Just try taking a shower, ride your bike, take a jog, or do something that will wake you up. Exercise is important when you're on your period.
There are also medications you can take for cramps such as Tylenol or Advil. You can also use a heating pad, which doesn't do much, but it does make your stomach rather comforted.
Hope this helps :) [ kennax3's advice column | Ask kennax3 A Question ]
