i can't stand school. it's hard for me to explain to anyone, because it's not like i'm bullied or don't understand the work. i'm just so sick of everyone there. i'm sick of waking up with nothing to look forward to. all my friends have left school. i have anxiety when i wake up. i can't get to sleep at night. my bad grades from previous years have forced me to take regular classes, and now i know even less people than i did before. i just can't motivate myself. when i do badly in school, i'm grounded on the weekends, and being grounded makes me even more depressed during the week. i hate the school that i go to.
i've asked my parents to let me switch schools, take virtual school, or drop out. they just won't compromise with me. i can't go anymore. i'm so confused.
And I really do know what you are trying to say in the beginning of your question.
First of all, you should talk to your school counselor because when you tell her/him how you feel- then he/she will probably contact your parents and explain it to them. That would definitely give them a new perspective on this situation.
These are all of the alternatives to public school that I can think of:
Homeschooling
boarding school (you can get a scholarship even)
private schools/catholic schools (which are ususally cheap)
homeschool academies (places that teach classes to homeschoolers)
and please don't drop out!!! it will ruin your life! it might seem like it would be fun now, but you'll never get a decent job/get into college/etc.
superstarblue89 answered Tuesday October 2 2007, 4:54 pm: if there is an alternative school try going to that. My school district has an alternative school that pregnant students or students with hard work hours can go to...you might want to talk about that or discuss it with your counselor...but truth is right now your just having a hard time at school. It's still early in the school year so you haven't really given it much of a chance. Give it a real chance. Try to make a compromise with your parents. Say that you'll work until the end of the semester...if things don't get better then they should let you transfer...but making you go to school is a good thing...dropping out is seriously the worst thing you could do to yourself...there are days when I hate school too but I still get up and go...go out...make friends in your new classes...it will make you want to go because you'll have people to talk to and hang out with on the weekends and stuff because you'll be making better grades by wanting to go...but whatever you do don't drop out...it really is the worst thing. In our world right now you need a college education for everything...dropping out wont get you anywhere in life. [ superstarblue89's advice column | Ask superstarblue89 A Question ]
