Well, I started going out with this guy on Friday. I dumped him today, because the relationship was weak, and it felt strained. He was quite upset and very surprised when I dumped him, and he actually told me he wanted to go back out with me. But both of his best friends who I am very tight with told me he only went out with me because he felt bad, and they didn't say it unkindly, they told me because they felt I deserved to know. And I don't get it. If he didn't actually like me, then why was he so upset about me dumping him? And i dont know what I should say to him. He told me to think about going back out with him, and i told him I would think about it. I'm really confused. :( Help pleasee.

Ok maybe the first time that he went out with was because he felt bad, but maybe after going out with you he relized that he did like you very much. give him another chance, and see if it is different this time.

Well, you can't always trust his that his friends are telling you the truth.
If he only went out with you because he felt bad, he wouldn't be wanting you to get back together. In fact, if he was only dating you because he felt bad, he would have been relieved that you broke up. Correct?
Maybe they said that because they don't want you together? Maybe they are just jerks like that. In fact, sounds to me like they are.
Best bet? Tell him what his friends said. Let HIM tell you the truth of the matter.
