unexplained periods AND inactive pills questions NEED HELP A

Question Posted Thursday September 27 2007, 3:47 am

My dearest friend Katie is on the birth control "YAZ", she's on her first month on it, and she had sex with her boyfriend a week and a 4. And since that day she's had my period and she hasn't been on the "inactive pills" during the course of this mystery period.
WHAT IS GOING ON?! Is this normal?!

My OTHER SERIOUS NEED ANSWERS FOR ASAP question is, Katie had sex ON the "inactive pills" without a condom and her partner and and herself are worried that the inactive pills will not protect against pregnancy. Is she safe? or should she get some help?

HELP!!!!

Thx!

Your question is a little confusing but I will try to answer it.

A girl should be on birth control at least 30 days before having unprotected sex. Gives it time to get in your system. After that 30 days, you are safe from pregnancy, no matter what color the pill.

If you have unprotected sex before the first 30 days of taking the pill, and you don't get your period, you need to take a pregnancy test.

The inactive pills are nothing. They are taken simply as a reminder to take a pill everyday.
if one is accidentally missed, it won't hurt anything. If you have been taking the pills properly, there should be no fear of pregnancy while on the inactive pills.
